It is the simplicity of a movement – not the complexity – that makes it effective. Professor Jefrie Dix, 8th Degree Black Belt and founder of Combat Kenpo

In Combat Kenpo training – the ultimate goal is to have a good balance between Scholar and Warrior. As a Scholar we want to understand the principles of movement, the cause and effect. We strive to have the maximum knowledge and a thorough understanding of our art. As Warriors we need to condition and prepare our minds and bodies for battle. We need to develop and maintain a Warrior’s attitude and mind set. Think, plan, and prepare like a Scholar but train like a Warrior because ultimately we send Warriors into the battle not Scholars
